UTC Pediatrician begins practice in Loudon

Driving past Loudon’s fountain and through the town square, one can easily see why pediatrician Marc Courts, MD chose to begin his practice at Loudon Pediatric Clinic in August 2008. Located near the end of a tree lined residential street, Loudon Pediatric Clinic welcomes children through their very own, child-size door.

In June 2008, Courts completed his pediatric residency training at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. During his third year of training, Courts weighed many options in deciding to practice medicine in Chattanooga or a rural community. “As a physician, I believe that you are bestowed with the challenges of selflessness and are charged with giving back to the community and people you live among. It is for this reason that rural health really became a chief desire for me,” Courts said.

Dr. John Guider and the staff at Loudon Pediatric Clinic embraced Courts and his desire to practice medicine in a rural setting. Construction on a new wing to accommodate Courts and his patients has begun and is scheduled to be complete by January 2009.

“My experiences have shown me the great sense of fulfillment, which can be garnered from those receiving primary care in a rural health setting. The faces of gratitude of my patients and their parents speak volumes,” Courts said.
