East Tennessee Native Amanda Stoltz Fulfills Dream of Practicing Medicine

Imagine waking up every morning and sipping coffee with this view of the Holston River and the Appalachian Mountains. East Tennessee native Amanda Stoltz, MD couldn’t imagine life any other way.
Growing up in Sullivan County, Stoltz dreamed of pursuing a career in medicine because of the influence and relationship her grandmother’s physician had with the entire family. Stoltz’ natural ability to excel in biology led her to East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine and to the university’s family medicine residency program at Bristol. Stoltz completed her training in June 2008, and joined Rural Health Services Consortium’s Rogersville site in August 2008.
“I have heard family medicine described as being ‘from the cradle to the grave.’ I want to be that physician,” Stoltz said.
