The Heart of a Teacher

Dr. Ann Payne-Johnson grew up in New Orleans and moved to Tennessee for medical training at the University of Tennessee’s Family Practice Residency Program in Jackson. With the help of The Rural Partnership, she has established her practice at Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women in Memphis, where she is meeting her professional goal, “to work in a multi-disciplinary group, educating families on prevention of disease and teaching family life skills.” Furthermore, her training allowed her to focus on patients throughout all points of the lifecycle.
